Day 5 of the 12 Days of Joy
Taking Inspired Action Today
Does this sound familiar? You have a ton of things to do. Your list seems endless and overwhelming. Some tasks feel like a must, but you aren’t excited about them. Other items are experiences you really want, but perhaps you wonder how you will fit them in. When you are juggling a lot, you suddenly feel like doing nothing. You wish you had energy and motivation, but in truth, you feel a bit burned out. Procrastination sets in because you may be overwhelmed and exhausted.
The answer to this is to find your inspiration. Inspired action feels completely different.
When you are inspired, things flow, life doesn’t feel hard, and everything looks brighter and works better.
The key is to open up and let your next inspired action steps be revealed.
You know this inspired feeling. Perhaps you feel it when you are writing or working on a beloved hobby or when you are excited about a project.
Let your intuition lead you to your inspiration. Before you go to bed at night, ask questions. You could say, “How can I find my inspiration? or What would be inspiring for me? What is my next powerful step? Where is the best place to start on this goal? How could I get help with this? etc. Then keep a notebook by your bed to write down ideas that come to you.
Start your day with inspiration. Be intentional. Write in your journal. Listen to affirmations or guided meditations right away. Do this no matter how you feel when you wake up. Feelings shift quickly, so finding a way to be consistent about cultivating inspiration will lead to more inspiring thoughts and actions.
A couple of years ago, I wrote a book, “Relax Into Inspired Action” . I wrote this book after I realized that the more I relaxed, the more I was inspired to take the most impactful actions and this relaxed state induced success. That year, I took six vacations.
Here are some additional tips to find your inspiration:
Relax. The more you relax, the more you allow inspiration to come forward. Relaxing could mean sleeping on an idea or hanging out with people who have a chill vibe. Listen to music. Sip tea. Create a peaceful area in your home. This can be your go-to place to unwind. Keep it clutter-free and filled with beauty. Flowers, art, candles, and relaxing essential oils create a relaxed mood.
When you feel anxious, recognize the emotion and invite peace to flow in. You can affirm, “I am open to peace. I am receiving peace.”
Foster inspiring thoughts. When your mind says, ” I have so much to do, I will never get it done.” or you start to worry; redirect your thoughts. Ask, what would be a better feeling thought? or “What would feel really good right now?” Keep a list of statements that inspire you. I save mine in an app called Google Keep. That way, if I don’t feel inspired, I can light up the feeling through words that are meaningful to me. Some examples of statements on my list: “If someone else can do it, I can too.” “I have all of the time I need”. “Everything is working out for me.” “I am a deliberate creator.” “I am having fun.”
Be the energy of what it is that you want. If your goal is to finish school, ask yourself, “What would a graduate of this program be doing and thinking right now?” or if you want to grow your business, “What would a multi 7 figure business owner be doing right now?” Whatever your goal is, be that energy.
What do I mean by this? I’ll provide some contrast. It’s common for people to say, I’ll take pride in what I have when I have more. The truth is that if you take care of what you have right now and respect what you have, you are being the energy of having what you really want. Treat your ten your old car like it is a brand new car, keep it clean and shiny. Take care of your starter home or apartment like it is your absolute dream home. If you want to charge more for your services, treat your current clients like they are million-dollar clients. If you want more money, respect and appreciate the money you currently have.

I love the relax into inspired action. I have the most wonderful place where I journal almost every day. My Lanai! My view is a pool and a lake. I hear the ducks and bird. There are plants and flowers around me and at night candles and lights.
Thanks for the suggestion that I should be my dream now. Treat my customers like they are my million dollar customers!
Lori, I love how you do life. I can picture the scene:)
