Inspired Action sherikayehoff.com

If you own a business, you are already taking a lot of action. In fact, your schedule probably feels packed and you likely feel like you are putting in a lot of hours. But, are those hours yielding the results that you want in your business? Is your client list full? Are you creating the income that you want? Are you enjoying your business?

Wouldn’t it be great if you could stop working so hard and actually see more results? The kind of action you take is directly related to your results that you get in your biz. If you are caught in a never-ending “busy” cycle, you won’t get the inspiration to take the bold steps you need to take to get your business to where you want it to be.

Inspired action yields positive results. Desperate reaction yields poor results. Here are three ways to unlock inspired action in your business.

  1. Create more everyday joy. Yes, I said it. Be happy. Happiness is the major boost to creativity and success. If you are focused on turning profits, you might feel that happiness is last on the list, after all, you have bigger things to think (worry) about. But happiness is the biggest thing. I have been studying what makes people happy and successful for twenty years. What I learned is that happiness is a choice. Giving happiness a top priority in your life is also a choice. If you don’t believe me, just try it. Wake up in the morning and say, “I choose happiness.” Do it the same way as you would say, “I choose to wear black pants today.” Then make a list of a few thing that you appreciate. (This ends up being a daily journaling habit). Say thank you more often throughout the day.
  2. Relax more. I hear this often, “How can I relax when I have to ….. (fill in the blank). In my research, and in my own daily life, I have discovered that the more people relax, the more money they make in business. Breathe deeply. Live life fully.  Be present. Take vacations. Whatever feels relaxing to you, do it more often. Deep relaxation helps you think more clearly and opens your mind to new ideas and new solutions.
  3. Trust your gut. Your intuition is rarely wrong. Occasionally, I meet a person who says, “I have no inner guidance, I don’t know what that is.” Often this type of person has been through trauma and is filled with self-doubt and is not able to recognize her own intuition, let alone trust it. Regardless of where you are in terms of recognizing and listening to your intuition, you can improve your intuitive hits through practice. A good way to practice accessing your intuition, is to ask yourself questions like, “What is my next step? How can I solve this problem? Who should I hire? What help do I need?” Once you ask a question(s) have a pen handy and write down any answers that come up. Also be ready with a notepad by your bed, in your car, in your handbag. Once you ask a question, your mind will continue to work on it even when you aren’t actively thinking about it.

Happiness is a major boost to creativity and success.

These three steps; creating more everyday joy, relaxing more, and trusting your gut will help you access truly inspired action steps. When you discover an inspired action step, take it. You grow, learn, and become more confident and successful through taking meaningful steps.
