Create an Instant Miracle Day 5 of 12 days of Holiday Joy

When you think of miracles, you might think of dramatic healings or delivery from harm. Yes, these do happen. I experienced miraculous healing five years ago. My doctors called it a spontaneous remission. I called it a miracle. I describe my experience in this article- How I Nearly Died When I think of miracles, I also think of daily miracles. A daily miracle can be a mindset shift, a call from someone out of the blue, a surprise abundance, a surprise outcome when everything works in your favor or you had the best possible result, and more.

When you look for miracles, you see miracles. In my coaching groups we practice expecting miracles.

Begin by creating your ideal day in the morning. Visualize your ideal outcome for each meeting, each project, each encounter and more. State, I am expecting miracles today. Begin each day with the thought, something great is happening today and/or thinking, “I feel lucky.” Did you know we can create our own luck? Check out Gay Hendrick’s book on Amazon- Conscious Luck

Every vacation I take, at the beginning, I say, “every vacation has a miraculous moment” I look for it and it always happens. Last spring when I was in South Carolina, it was turtle season. Turtles lay their eggs at night on the beach. Since I was staying in a beach house with Susie McMahon from Luxe Low Country Travel and my daughter, Sonja, I read about all the ways people could keep turtles safe.

I wasn’t expecting to see a turtle but I felt thrilled to be there during turtle season. One afternoon, we were sitting on the beach and I saw a little head pop up out of the water. Sure enough, it was a turtle. It came right out of the water, walked slowly past us and went up and laid her eggs. We were so quiet and didn’t move because if they get disturbed they forget to lay their eggs and sometimes lay them in the water and the eggs don’t hatch.

When she was done laying her eggs she walked past us again and swam away in the water. Minutes later, two dolphins jumped up in the water together. I had my miracle moment of the trip. I was tuned into looking for that miracle moment and I experienced it. Often we miss our miracles because we are not paying attention.

Look for your miracle today and when you notice it, write it down. You could even create and keep a miracles journal. When you feel down or need a lift, read through some of your entries.

What then is an instant miracle? An instant miracle could be as simple as a mindset shift. You were thinking one way and you instantly pivot to a more powerful and empowered way of thinking and being. You could experience instant miracles all day long. Your thoughts and energy are creating your results in your life, when you shift this, you shift your results. Tada- miracles abound. Opportunities for miracles are all around you. When I was in ICU five years ago, a nurse said to me, “Stay positive, it makes a difference.” I was thankful that I had been writing about joy, happiness, and being positive for over a decade. But it was a great reminder and helped jolt me out of the incredible fear I was feeling.

“There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle.”
Albert Einstein

You can also look at miracles from a spiritual perspective. When I experienced my miraculous healing, many people were praying for me. I am a daily prayer person. In fact, some days I feel like I am in one constant prayer. Though science says virtually all proof that prayer works is based on stories people share, even scientists who don’t believe in the power of prayer, know that it makes people feel better.

  1. Love this blog! Thanks for sharing your turtle story. For the naturalists out there- the creature you saw was a terrapin. They will come out of the water during the day!
I am so glad you experienced nature on your trip to the Lowcountry of South Carolina!

  2. I love your story of the turtles and dolphins on your vacation. I think animals are often a source of wonder. Also, I wanted to mention that, every time I click through to your blog from the email notfications, I notice how pretty it is. I love your seasonal decorations and the photos you’ve chosen.

I think the most recent miracle I’ve noticed in my life was, after having difficulties opening and revising a file in Word on my home computer, I determined that the whole program isn’t working on the computer, and I couldn’t successfully update or troubleshoot it. A workaround and a miracle? I discovered, by uploading the file into my Google Drive, that you can now edit and save Word files through Google Drive, which I hadn’t known before. It helped me get the file completed without having to spend more time and money on the Word situation.

  3. Hi Sheri
Our paths crossing almost 10 years ago was a miracle that continues ( a continuous miracle).

I loved reading about some of your miracles, special, and , fun journal prompts. I’m looking forward to using your awesome exercise worksheet.

  4. My miracle today is that I got to sleep until noon. This is a quiet day. No one woke me up! Tomorrow my mom and I will bake bread and candy. My miracle tomorrow is that my 81 year old mom is healthy and teaches me her baking secrets. Reason I moved to Florida
