Day 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas
How to Step Into Inspired Action
You know the drill. You have a ton of things to do. Some tasks feel like a must, but you aren’t excited about them. Other items are experiences you really want, but perhaps you wonder how you will fit them in. When you are juggling a lot, you suddenly feel like doing nothing. You wish you had energy and motivation, but in truth, you feel a bit burned out. Procrastination sets in because you are overwhelmed.
However, inspired action feels completely different.
The key is to channel your inspiration and unlock it and ignite it. You know this feeling, Perhaps you feel it when you are writing or working on a beloved hobby or when you are excited about a project.
My week has been busy and it is only Wednesday. It has been filled with wonderful things. Sunday night was the Blossom of Lights at Denver Botanical Gardens, Monday night- my son’s football banquet. Finals at schools for my son. Tuesday, I coached incredible clients from 10 am to 8 pm. Sprinkle in some business meetings. This morning, I was able to run out to Starbucks to meet a new client. I love meeting clients face to face when I have the chance. She was wonderful.
Ongoing is the 12 Days of Christmas, I have loved every moment of writing and interacting with people on my blog and in my free facebook group. I still have a few presents to buy and wrap, food to buy and prepare, stockings to hang, and prep work for a couple of group calls. Just writing it out sounds like a lot. It hasn’t felt like a lot, though. I have felt inspired. I have been fully present in each task. For things that are still on my list, I am calmly confident that everything is working out just fine.
A couple years ago, I wrote a book, “Relax Into Inspired Action” . I wrote this book after I realized that the more I relaxed, the more I was inspired to take the right actions and the more this relaxed state induced success. That year, I took six vacations.
Here are some tips to find your inspiration:
Relax. The more you relax, the more you allow inspiration to come forward. Relaxing could mean sleeping on an idea or hanging out with people who have a chill vibe. Listen to music. Sip tea. Create a peaceful area in your home. This can be your go-to place to unwind. Keep it clutter free and filled with beauty. Flowers, art, candles, and relaxing essential oils create a relaxed mood.
Foster inspiring thoughts. When your mind says, ” I have so much to do, I will never get it done.” or you start to worry; redirect your thoughts. Ask, what would be a better feeling thought? or “What would feel really good right now?” Keep a list of statements that inspire you. I save mine to an app called Google Keep. That way, if I don’t feel inspired, I can ignite the feeling through words that are meaningful to me. For example, “If someone else can do it, I can too.” “I have all of the time I need”.
Be the energy of what it is that you want. If your goal is to finish school, ask yourself, “What would a graduate of this program be doing and thinking right now?” or if you want to grow your business, “What would a multi 7 figure business owner do in my situation right now?” Whatever your goal is, be that energy. What do I mean by this? I’ll provide some contrast. It’s common for people to say, I’ll take pride in what I have when I have more. The truth is that if you take care of what you have right now and respect what you have, you are being in the energy of having what you really want. Treat your ten your old car like it is a brand new car, keep it clean and shiny. Take care of your starter home or apartment like it is your absolute dream home. If you want to charge more for your services, treat your current clients like they are million dollar clients.

How can one not feel inspired after reading this??
“The key is to channel your inspiration and unlock it and ignite it” – Yes! Set it on fire! ??
I finally wrote Christmas cards last night. I had been procrastinating on it, thinking it would be a time-consuming task, but once I started, I remembered how much I enjoy reconnecting with friends and family, sharing short personal notes and family photos.
Thanks Sheri! I am trying to feel relaxed with so much to do before the end of the year. I am so happy in Florida with my family. I’m taking that feeling and putting it toward my work.
