The drawing will be held after the 12-day event is over on Dec 23. In order to keep track of social media shares, please post in the facebook group where and how many comments/shares you have each day.
Day 2 Expect Miracles. Today, let’s talk about expecting miracles. What a great topic for this time of year! The movies are filled with Christmas and Holiday miracles. In my coaching groups, expecting miracles is a regular thing. What is a miracle anyway? You might automatically think about miracles that seem to defy physics or a miracle might be something nearly impossible to achieve. Yes, those things are miraculous. You might think of stories like the Miracle on Ice about the U.S. underdog Olympic hockey team or the story of Rudy or Bethany Hamilton surfing again after a shark bit off her arm.
Let’s expand our idea of a miracle. A miracle can also be a shift in thinking. Has this happened to you? You think one way, you might even be stuck thinking one way, and suddenly you have a big shift and a different awareness of your situation or a problem. This kind of miracle is huge. You change the way you look at things as Wayne Dyer would say, and then the things you look at change.
“If you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.” Wayne Dyer
Click to tweetI recently experienced this. I was talking to my friend who is a mortgage broker and she told me about a loan that I was unaware of. People close to me know I am a researcher, an information junkie, always reading, studying, and learning. My friend surprised me with her info. Suddenly, my next home became real and close, like it will happen in the next couple months instead of years. My shift in awareness and thinking was dramatic and happened within seconds. I had a plan previously, I knew what I was doing and what my goal was, then, with this new information, everything accelerated. This was a miracle. It brought my next dream home into my life.
As I reflected on this, I realized how often people get tunnel vision and think there is only one way or one path or they think they have looked at every path. In truth, there are always other alternatives. I thought about how many other areas of my life where my thinking could be expanded.
Another miracle is when you reframe what is happening. Let’s say you are in a rut and having a miserable day and you talk to someone who is really battling one of the big things in life and they are hopeful, happy, and peaceful. Instantly, you are aware that your day is actually pretty awesome. If someone with stage IV cancer or heart failure can be full of joy, why can’t you? Then you start thinking about all of your blessings.
A few years ago, when I wasn’t sure how long I was going to live or what my quality of life would be, I made up my mind to do everything I wanted and to love people deeply. I was pretty happy before I almost died, but having that brush with death, made me want to live fully with no regrets and nothing left on the table. When I look back at this time in my life, I don’t feel sad or sorry for myself, I feel thankful that I could see so clearly. A miracle! Of course, I did have one of those traditional miracles when I was fully healed, too.
Anything is possible. Life is limitless. It expands when we expand. It contracts when we contract. The more you love, the more you forgive, the more you do your own version of your jubilant, joy-filled happy dance, the more you will see your daily miracles. Expect miracles. What is your miracle today? Open your eyes and heart to see it.
