You probably have some goals that you really, really want to make happen. And perhaps, these goals have seemed out of reach for awhile. You might be thinking about a personal goal or a biz growth goal. I want to help you reach your vision and experience everything that is important to you.
One of the things that gets in the way of reaching your vision, is that we are where we are because of how we think and how we approach problems and solutions. In order to change, we have to be able to see the problem differently and approach the solution differently. I am talking about a paradigm shift here (a paradigm shift is changing the way you see the world, a problem, a situation).
For example, if you are trying to improve a relationship, but you can only see the other person as being wrong, it will be difficult to improve the relationship because the only way to improve it is that the other person has to change and/or admit to being wrong. And that will happen, when? A paradigm shift in this case will give more solutions and a higher likelihood of improved relationships.
Creating a paradigm shift isn’t super easy to do, because most people are entrenched in their position and have limited perspective. This means we fall back on our habits and experience instead of truly trying to find a new way of thinking and being.
A fun way to launch a paradigm shift, is to create a new character in your life. In this exercise, you would look at your goal and create a character who is master of that goal. In the relationship example above, I would create a Super Hero called Master of Relationships Sheri (yes, put your name into your character). And then give this super hero characteristics such as: Always calms down arguments, see the good in people, brings out the best in people, oozes love in all directions, etc.
Then when you are faced with a situation, you can activate your superhero to handle the situation. An activation simply means asking yourself a question. How would Master of Relationships Sheri handle this situation, What would she do? What action would she take? How would she be thinking right now? It really does create a shift in thinking.
What are some other super hero versions of yourself could you create? Magic Money Manifester? Captain of Marketing Strategy? Giant Business Magnet? Master of health and fitness? Princess of Happiness? These are just a few ideas, and I am sure you can be even more creative.
Try this creating a new character exercise to put fresh eyes on your goals and daily actions.
