Let Your Joy Unfold and Become a Master of Letting Go

I took a weekend trip through the mountains on I 70. We went from Denver all the way to Grand Junction. My son was playing football in Grand Junction. He went on the bus, but my husband and two of my daughters decided to make a road trip out of the weekend. My girlfriend and her daughter came too.

We took our time on Friday. We stopped in Vail and ate at the Blue Moose Pizza. As we left Vail, I remember thinking, I want to stop at Grizzly Creek, but I also wanted to stop at the wineries in Palisade and we had to be at the hotel by 5 and then to the game by 7. I thought about Grizzly Creek, I smiled, then I let it go. I didn’t want my hubby to feel like he had to stop even though that is a place I always stop when I am by myself.

My husband works a lot of hours in his business, so being on a trip together was so fun and light-hearted. He was relaxed.

Deep in thought, a while later, I heard the blinker turn on. I asked what was up, my husband said he needed to stop for a bathroom break, I looked up and we were turning off on Grizzly Creek.

My heart sang. I jumped out of the car and practically ran down to the creek, kicking my shoes off to put my feet in the icy water. It was windy and the creek had white water. I love water. When I am close to a beautiful body of water, I feel amazing. My senses are heightened and it boosts my creativity and my happy vibes.

I smiled at how the Universe delivered something that made me so happy and all I did was think, I want to stop at Grizzly Creek. I wasn’t trying hard to manifest this beautiful stop, I just lovingly thought about it and let it go. The whole trip unfolded in this way. The stop at the winery was a blast and I joined their wine club. Our rooms were great. My son’s team won, and when we were back at the hotel, an unusually talented acoustic guitar duo was playing and my daughters sang along.

It snowed overnight, so on our drive back, we saw gorgeous snow-capped mountain peaks. We tried the Pullman restaurant Glenwood Springs and it was a superb farm to table meal.

I had many delightful moments with my family. As I reflected over the weekend I was struck by how the Grizzly Creek experience was a perfect example of manifesting. I held the desire in my mind, but I let it go. I thought, yes that would be wonderful, but I didn’t start worrying or planning how I would fit the stop in. I trusted that my weekend was going to be wonderful.

We can apply this to the big things- our kids getting into the college they want, signing a client, getting a promotion at work… let go of the worry. Think about how you want to feel and what you want to experience and be in the joy of those feelings.
