12 Days of Joy Day 11 Happy New Years Eve
My day started out amazing because I had a Q and A call with my signature Be the Inspiration Mastermind Group. Every single person in the group was on the call. The questions were brilliant from how to move out of judgement to how to effectively manage saving money while growing a business to how to deal with the feeling that a person “should be” further ahead and more. For almost an hour and half, I got to be with some of the most compassionate, brilliant, caring, and difference making women I know answering questions and implementing mindset shifting exercises and another thing I loved is the support that these women offer each other.
One thing all of these masterminders had in common is that they all started out with my Optimize program and/or one on one coaching. I have had the chance to be a part of tremendous growth. As I reflect back on 2015 which was filled with my own growth as well as a near death crisis, my greatest professional honor is the work that has happened with this group.
On this new years eve, I am filled with joy as I review 2015 and I am oh so excited about 2016.
Everything in 2015 didn’t work out perfectly for me (I almost ended up on the heart transplant list before a miraculous healing). There were some goals that didn’t quite happen the way I imagined, but so much of the year was simply wonderful. I published a new book Relax Into Inspired Action. I traveled to the Bahamas again with one of my best friends, I visited one of my clients in LA, I mentored professionals at CBS Studios, I traveled to Minnesota for a long visit with family, and I took my son to the Peyton Manning Passing Academy in Louisiana. I received a miraculous healing after a virus attacked my heart muscle and caused it to fail. I finally got a recent family pic of all of my children together (almost impossible with 6 and some living in different states). I saw Journey in concert (my favorite band) Plus Motley Crue, Styx, Def Leopard and a few other concerts sprinkled in. What I value most about 2015 is my friends and family. Since the day I almost died, I have talked to my parents every day and we pray together. I cherish that. I cherish the conversations with people and the shared joy.
A friend said to me, “You must be really happy to put 2015 behind you after the rough year you had.” I blinked for a minute because I wasn’t sure what he was talking about. I thought my year was great. Then I realized he meant the whole almost dying thing. I don’t look at my life in a way where I would ever say I had a rough year. I may have had a few rough moments, like stopping breathing for several minutes and waking up on a ventilator twelve hours later and not remembering anything from those 12 hours. When I woke up though, I was giddy and euphoric because I was still alive. I knew I had more to do and so much more life to live.
When you review your 2015, be sure to see the good and celebrate what worked, and anything left undone or anything that you wish could be a “do-over”; create that for yourself in 2016. But let go of any feeling bad emotion and allow yourself to feel joy.
I am sending you joy vibes right now.
