12 Days of Joy Day 10- The topic is Goal Setting
It feels good to achieve your goals. It also can feel stressful when you don’t achieve your goals. As New Years Eve and Day are almost here, many people turn their thoughts to 2016 resolutions. As you think about the things you want to change in 2016, you might also start thinking about the things you didn’t do in 2015. It’s easy to get down and it’s easy to forget about what really worked for you. You had some major wins in 2015. I know it. And for those things that didn’t quite work out, you can add them to 2016 if they are still important to you.Let go of any feelings of “should have” or “could have”.
I made up my mind several years ago to not do any resolutions. Instead I create an overall plan and a vision for the year and I have helped hundreds of people through this process. A common area of planning that gets people stuck is deciding on goals. Often people say things like, “When I set a goal, I come in just short of that goal.” or “It seems like I manifest things a day late.”
Work with yourself. Work with who you are. If you really want to bring in $7500 a month in your biz, set your goal for $9000. If your goal is pay your bills on time, move up the due date in your mind by a day or two. If your bills are $5000 per month, build in $5500 per month because something unexpected usually happens each and every month. If you want to quit your job by December 2016 to focus on your business full time, set the goal for August 2016. Build in cushion. Stop settling for the habit of just getting by.
When I hold complimentary sessions with people, most people say they want to make more money. When I ask how much more money, most people don’t know. They just know they want more than they have right now. This is actually a, “I don’t have enough” thought. But when you decide on a goal, it becomes strategic. You can get your energy behind it. This is where joy comes into the picture. As you get excited about your plan, you allow your joy to move your plan forward.
New Year’s Day, I am holding a complimentary coaching call, How to Create a Joy Filled 2016.

“Stop settling for the habit of just getting by.”…. wow! What a great perception changer!!! I except this goal!!!!
this is especially critical and hard! since not being able to work i have not had goals for years which is sad really. health issues drown out everything but maybe it does not have to be that way or at least as much.
